eTranscript card information

Postby dgoldsmi on Wed Oct 15, 2008 12:41 pm

eTranscripts is a way for attendees to track their own attendance at Edtech so that they can submit the hours to their district professional development coordinator for credit. It is strictly voluntary and only offered as a complimentary service provided by S.C.A.E.T to help conference participants.

You just pick up an eTracker card (looks like a credit card) at the eTranscript desk when you pick up your registration information. Then you just have your card scanned for each session that you attend. You can earn one hour for each session you attend. Note: EdTEch does not issue CEUs, graduate credit, or continuing ed credits. We only provide official documentation of an attendee's participation that could be considered professional development contact hours. By the end of the conference, return your eTranscript card so that your record of attendance can be downloaded. You will be able to log into the conference website afterwards to print out a record of your hours. If you have any questions, feel free to ask any of the staff working at the eTranscript desk.

FAQs:

Do I keep my eTracker card from year to year?

No, please return your card to the eTracker counter when you are finished with it each year. You will not be able to download your eTranscript later unless your card assigned to you is returned by the end of the conference.

Is my personal information encoded on the magnetic strip on my eTracker card? Is this safe and secure?

Your personal information is not encoded on the card. Only a unique ID number is encoded along with conference information. Your email address is tied to that number in the EdTech databases located elsewhere. Therefore, this is a very secure and safe service provided to you.

What if I leave a session early and attend another? Do I get credit for both?

No, only the last scan of your badge in any one session hour slot is counted. EdTech treats everyone as adults and professionals. Please do the right thing and only attempt to receive credit that you have really earned fairly and faithfully.

Can I loan my eTracker card to someone else?

No, this is a violation of the eTranscript system. Such a violation can jeopardize your receiving a valid eTranscript at the end of the conference.
